What kind of maintenance have you been doing for your camper? Are you taking preventative measures, scheduling them out, or only treating them in emergency situations?
These three types of camper maintenance are all VERY important but you shouldn’t just do one or the other. How about all three? There are preventative maintenance tasks that should be done consistently and like a car, you should schedule some services out in intervals. Don’t forget that when you do have an emergency you’d like to get it fixed right away. We don’t blame you!
Preventative Maintenance
What is preventative maintenance? It’s pretty common sense actually. This goes along the lines of cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, adjusting, and servicing your camper. Most of these you can do yourself. However, some you may need to go to a dealership for assistance. Preventative maintenance is great to do before you take your trip. Look over your seams, check under your camper, look for water damage, things like that. If you think you see something and you’re not sure how to handle it, please reach out to us! We’re happy to help and be behind you through this. Our service team has very extensive hands on experience and will be available to answer any questions or give a helping hand.
Scheduled Maintenance
This is also known as routing maintenance. You may need to schedule out service appointments every so often to make sure everything is in working order. Make sure you know who is responsible for your scheduled maintenance (you, warranty, etc.). Think of it this way, if you have a car, you want to get oil changes, rotate tires, and so on. This is very similar to a camper! You want to make sure everything goes smoothly for a long time, keep your camper in good condition, and prevent and damages occurring.
Emergency Maintenance
This is always the unexpected. What if you’re on the road and a component, system or a mechanical error occurs? Sometimes you’re stuck in a sticky situation and you’re unsure what to do.
